Trader Joe’s Celebrates Grand Opening & Sprouts Farmers Market Selects Tracy as its Newest Location

The City of Tracy is pleased to announce that a second specialty grocery store will be coming to the area and joining Trader Joe’s, an exciting milestone for the community’s growth and development.

The grand opening of Trader Joe’s and Sprouts Farmers Market, which has selected Tracy as its new home, highlights the ongoing, collaborative effort to bring more specialty grocery options to the area.

It also reinforces the commitment of the City of Tracy and collaborating stakeholders, including the City Council, to implement their strategic priorities for 2025 and beyond, such as an outstanding quality of life by enhancing the city’s amenities to promote positive change and progress in the community.

“A focus of the Economic Development team has been the attraction of amenities sought by the community. A retail and restaurant survey conducted by the City revealed Trader Joe’s as the number one grocer the community wanted to see come to Tracy. With this in mind, I made the attraction of Trader Joe’s a priority, turning it into a reality. We welcome Trader Joe’s to our thriving business community,” said Jorge T. Sprouts Farmers Market

Sprouts Farmers Market has set its sights on opening a new location in Tracy at the Ellis Village Center. Known for its fresh, natural, and organic products, the store will offer a wide variety of fresh produce, responsibly sourced meats and seafood, vitamins, supplements, bulk foods, and natural household products.

In addition to Sprouts, the Center is also expected to attract a mix of retail, dining, and service-oriented businesses.

Trader Joe’s created a buzz when they announced plans to transform the vacant building at 2530 Naglee Road into their new storefront. The long-awaited grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on June 13th before the doors officially opened at 8 a.m.

Located directly in front of the West Valley Mall, their presence will also usher in a variety of long-term economic benefits to the region, such as new jobs and an increase in consumer spending, both of which will contribute to the local tax base. It also signals the continued resurgence of commercial growth in the area, drawing the interest of national retailers and other popular amenities.
