$43,000 donated for purchase of five scoreboards at Legacy Fields

Tracy, Calif. – Representatives from Leprino Foods Company Foundation presented the Friends of the Parks and Community Services Foundation with a $43,000 donation at the February 5, 2019 Tracy City Council meeting.  Their generous donation will be used towards the purchase and installation of five scoreboards for the Legacy Fields Sports Complex.

The Legacy Fields Sports Complex represents years of planning and partnerships with the City of Tracy and local youth sports leagues. At full build-out, Legacy Fields will consist of 166 acres of active sport areas. The first phase consists of 72 acres and includes 10 baseball/softball fields and eight soccer fields that are now in service. Legacy Fields will eventually serve as the largest multi-sport facility in the region and will aid in responding to the growing demand for sports facilities.

Leprino Foods Company is a global leader in the production of premium-quality cheese and dairy ingredients, including mozzarella cheese, lactose, whey protein and sweet whey. Tracy has been home to one of Leprino Foods’ nine full-scale manufacturing facilities in the United States since 1977.  The local plant has made every variety of their cheese products over its 40+ years of operation and employs approximately 330 team members.  According to Kim Miller, Tracy Plant Manager, Leprino Foods is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where it operates. “Giving our time and resources to help communities thrive is part of our company’s core value of ethics. We are dedicated to building strong relationships with the people and organizations in the communities we share.”

scoreboardTo recognize the Leprino Foods Company Foundation for their contribution to our community, the new scoreboards will be designed to include the LFC Foundation logo.  They will be installed on each of the five baseball/softball fields as part of Phase 1D of the project.

The City is always seeking opportunities like this to successfully partner with individuals, businesses and organizations in the Tracy community.  For additional information about this project, or if you are interested in partnership/sponsorship opportunities, please contact Brian MacDonald, Parks and Recreation Director: (209) 831-6203; brian.macdonald@cityoftracy.org
