Energy Recovery, Inc. Expands Bay Area Operation to the City of Tracy

18 Jun 2020

The City of Tracy Economic Development Team is pleased to announce the successful attraction of Energy Recovery, Inc. to the City of Tracy. Energy Recovery, Inc. is a global leader in pressure energy technology serving industrial fluid-flow markets worldwide with a primary focus in desalination. After meeting with City staff, Energy Recovery announced an expansion of its Bay Area operation to Tracy, adding 20 new skilled manufacturing jobs in the Tracy community, with operations expected to start by the end of June.

“We are excited to welcome Energy Recovery to our community,” stated Robert Rickman, Tracy’s Mayor. “This is another example of a manufacturer recognizing the value of a Tracy location in terms of access to labor, streamlined permitting, and strategic regional location.”

Energy Recovery’s decision to expand to Tracy’s Northeast Industrial area reflects a combination of financial and logistic considerations, according to the firm’s Associate Vice President, Water Operations, Rahul Chandra. “Energy Recovery is committed to serving our customers during this time of unprecedented growth in desalination. This facility will allow us to meet that demand in the near and long term,” said Rahul Chandra. “We looked at several expansion areas, including outside of California. In addition to alleviating potential seismic concerns, Tracy had the skilled labor we needed, was strategically located within proximity to major transportation hubs and our Bay Area headquarters, and the staff was committed to meeting our permitting requirements.”
