STOCKTON — The San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG), in partnership with the Center for Business and Policy Research (CBPR), will hold a FREE and informative Speaker Series event on the topic of The Rise of Warehousing and E-Commerce in San Joaquin County on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

San Joaquin County has been a center of Northern California trade since its origins nearly 170 years ago. The past decade has brought dynamic change to the County’s role in Northern California commerce, Stockton-Lodi MSA now has the second highest concentration of transportation and warehousing employment in the United States.

CBPR will release the newest San Joaquin County-focused report that explores the mega-regional connection between e-commerce, transportation, and warehousing. They will also carry forward some of the key employment indicators presented at the University of the Pacific Northern San Joaquin Valley conference and has more in-depth look at new San Joaquin County indicators.

This is the seventh Speaker Series held by SJCOG and CBPR. Thus far, the event has addressed issues such as transportation technology; career development and the changing workforce; affordability, transportation, and housing in the San Joaquin region; commute patterns; and how to achieve healthy communities throughout the region and the State. These issues are being unraveled by professionals in their respective fields, giving in-depth presentations and perspective on issues that are regionally specific. These data-filled census seminars provide information, demographic updates, new research findings, and much more!

The San Joaquin Council of Governments is a joint powers authority comprised of the County of San Joaquin and the cities of Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Tracy, Ripon, Escalon, and Lathrop.
