City of Tracy Notice

The City of Tracy recently issues a notice and social media posts that clarified that a Measure M survey that was being distributed was not a City of Tracy survey. In attempting to clarify that it was not a City of Tracy survey, the City of Tracy stated and/or implied that the survey was being distributed by the Committee for Measure M. We have subsequently been informed that Committee for Measure M did not commission or sponsor the survey and they are unaware of the survey's origin. The City of Tracy would like to apologize for any confusion that may have been created by our notice and social media posts.

Helicopter Test Flights

The City of Tracy is launching a helicopter program to assist local police and fire professionals with helicopter services during emergency situations. The helicopter program will officially launch in January 2019, however, test flights for police and fire will take place the week of August 13th and August 20, 2018. Between test flights in August and the official launch in January 2019, there will likely be more test flights in and around the community during daylight hours.

The public can expect to see a black and white helicopter with red accents during test flights. The helicopter will be flying within FAA safety guidelines with a highly-trained pilot, and under FAA noise guidelines. The helicopter will only fly for police or fire-related incidents; the public’s privacy will be protected as it normally is by the City’s Police and Fire Departments.

The City of Tracy has partnered with SkyRyse, an air mobility company based in Hayward, California, for the program. The City will evaluate the full program details with SkyRyse following the test flight period in 2018.

A dedicated hotline and email address has been created for public inquiries on the SkyRyse helicopter project. Public inquiries will be responded to within 24-48 hours.

Corral Hollow Road Construction Project

Beginning April 23, 2018, several segments along Corral Hollow Road will be closed for specific intervals of time to construct utility connections for new development in south Tracy, including Phase 1 of the Tracy Hills master-planned community. Phase 1A requires new water lines on or adjacent to Corral Hollow Road that will connect to the City of Tracy’s Water Treatment Plant, south of the Tracy Airport as well as a sewer line connecting to the end of the City’s sewer main line at Parkside Drive. For information on detour routes, project timeline and updates visit: www.chclosure.com. The project hotline number is (209) 221-4809 or info@chclosure.com.

Cannabis Regulations - Proposition 64

During a regular meeting of the Tracy City Council on December 5, 2017, the Council directed staff to prepare an ordinance to allow up to two medical cannabis non-storefront (i.e. delivery only) dispensaries to operate in the City’s industrial locations, subject to a high level of regulation and oversight by the City. Council also voted in favor of placing a sales tax on the November 2018 ballot for voters to approve a tax on commercial cannabis activity in Tracy.

Staff is working diligently to prepare the ordinance and expects to return to Council in September 2018 for further action. Until such ordinance is adopted by Council, all commercial medical and adult-use cannabis activity is prohibited in Tracy, including manufacturing, cultivation, distribution, testing and any other cannabis activity licensed by the State, in accordance with Tracy Ordinance 1240, effective October 19, 2017. View the Cannabis Regulations webpage for more information.
